Stephen founded Sheppersons in 1983, having moved to Horley to open and run a branch office for the firm of McLeish & Co of Dorking. This led to a Partnership with Stuart McLeish the following year. After the sale of the Dorking office, Stephen continued to practise on his own account in Horley before being joined in partnership by Sally Gandon in 1987.

He has worked for many property clients in London and abroad, including some high profile and high net worth individuals.

Stephen has been a Governor at two schools in Horley and is currently on the Board of Directors of a private school in Caterham. He has been a committee member of the local Chamber of Commerce, the Town Centre Management group and the Town Centre regeneration body, and a member and Chair of the Horley-Vimy Twinning Association. He has also been involved in the Round Table and 41 Club for the last 25 years or so and, along with the firm, he supports St Catherine Hospice in Crawley and the local Air Ambulance.

Stephen’s pleasures are music, cuisine, classic cars and visiting France.
